Robert P. Green (Bob) is responsible for the firm’s Business Automation practice. He specializes in strategic technology planning and helping businesses select, implement and manage computer-based solutions including accounting and business management software. He also oversees the firm’s Network, Security, and Information Management practice areas which provides strategic advisory and tactical services, including Disaster Preparedness Planning and Business Continuity Management, Sarbanes-Oxley IT Governance, Computer Forensics and Investigation, Electronic Discovery, and Employee Behavior Investigation and Controls.
Bob has been a CPA in the State of California since 1984. Prior to joining INSYNC as a Managing Director in 1997, he worked at Price Waterhouse (PW), specializing in middle market accounting, auditing and financial analysis services, and in private industry as a CFO and Executive Vice President.
His 8 years as an auditor to mid-market businesses while working at PW enabled him to leap into a role as CFO/EVP of a client whose critical success required automation of a complex business model. He held this role for six years and found that he enjoyed the information and technology experience gained and decided to pursue a career change in the IT services space. He then joined INSYNC as a partner, and together with his partner, Scott Cooper, has grown their firm dramatically over the past 10 years.
Bob feels that there have been significant factors that have come into play that have catapulted his career. His achievements have been due to the extensive education on business processes, information and IT management over the years, as well as the gained deep understanding of the ever changing ERP space, and surrounding himself with gifted professionals in the network and security space.
Additionally, being a CITP credential holder has provided him with another qualifier in the area of business development. “Prospects have a better appreciation for the fact that I do not represent just ’IT.’ This provides an opportunity to introduce them to the value of a CPA with IT strengths, and discuss how I am able to bridge the gap between business and the IT function. The CITP also allows me to keep more active and current with the CPA community, from which I came.”
Participating in the CPA community is especially important to Bob. He has produced numerous articles that provide the CPA’s perspective on the latest technological news and advice on how technology affects their business and the industry. Bob demonstrates the value of holding the CITP credential and is an example of how CITPs network, share, and impart knowledge for the benefit of the community.
