Information Technology Resources for International Professionals

Similar information technology concerns may occur regardless of the business organization or entity’s location. While a large portion of our resource materials don't address specific global concerns, the technology initiatives and resources available at the AICPA do address common technology issues that CPAs and business professionals encounter for their clients, employer, or own business.

The AICPA Information Technology (IT) Center and community offers knowledge and expertise, resources, and benefits in the following areas:

    • Practice Development
    • Professional Development
    • Advocacy
    • Information
    • IT Community
    • Certification

1. Practice Development

Top Technology Initiatives (TTI)

Each year, the Information Technology Membership Section's Top Technology Initiatives Task Force surveys individuals working in industry, public accounting, academia, and government. The results are then compiled, ranked, and published for the AICPA community and the public at large.  What originally started as a small group project has grown into an initiative voted on by AICPA IT Community members as well as other professional organization members. Click here to view the top-ten list of AICPA’s 19th Annual TTI survey from 2008 and browse through a limited selection of the topic details.

Privacy

Privacy is a risk management issue for all organizations, and many are looking to CPA firms for privacy solutions.  CPAs can provide guidance to the organizations they serve by using the Generally Accepted Privacy Principles (GAPP) to help assess their privacy-related risks as well as to develop sound privacy policies and practices.  To learn more about Privacy related topic areas, click here.  To find out more information about building a Privacy Practice, click here.
