Data Integration

Data integration is the process of merging data from different source systems and data repositories to provide a unified view of the information and a more holistic view of business operations. A common example of data integration is when data from a transactional system such as e-commerce or point-of-sales flows into a general ledger. Data Integration is an important control point and a key component of Business Intelligence and compliant reporting. In the broader business space, data integration is often referred to as Enterprise Information Integration.
