Generally Accepted Privacy Principles

The AICPA and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) have formed the AICPA/CICA Privacy Task Force, which has developed the Generally Accepted Privacy Principles (GAPP). This document supersedes the AICPA/CICA Privacy Framework. Using GAPP, CPAs can help organizations design and implement sound privacy practices and policies. Businesses that implement privacy policies in accordance with Generally Accepted Privacy Principles will likely meet, if not exceed, most applicable privacy laws and regulations while reducing privacy-related risks. The document is intended to be used in the full-text version, but it is available to view in individual components.
